High School Credits Course credit is issued only by the home school district. A recommendation for credit is then made to the home school. Credit determination is the sole prerogative of the home school/district. A full range of traditional courses, as well as Advanced Placement courses, credit recover and elective courses are offered online. Full-year, one-credit courses take a full year to complete and half-credit courses take a half year to complete. All courses meet the requirements for the New York State Learning Standards.
